Vancouver Open Prizes and Pro Earnings

Congratulations to this year’s Vancouver Open Overall Amateur Winner, 17 year old Adam Svensson of Surrey, who fired an impressive 54-hole total of 208 (-6), tying him for 6th overall in the field.  “It was a great experience to play with Adam (Hadwin), Bryn and Nick in the first two rounds and I had a great time this week playing against some of the top Professionals in Western Canada.  I look forward to playing in more VGT events in the future”. At the end of the evening, the top 14 Amateur players in each flight would take home some fabulous prizes.

Adam Hadwin Drops the Hammer Down in Round

Round two of the 2011 Paine Edmonds Vancouver Open saw Canada’s #1 Ranked Golfer Adam Hadwin stomp his foot on the accelerator, lighting up his scorecard with 5 birdies and an eagle to card his second consecutive round of 65 (-6) on Vancouver’s Premier Parks Golf Courses.  Hadwin’s domination in round two came on the shortest of the three courses, Langara, noted for its perfectly manicured and undulating greens.   Hadwin’s solid play was punctuated right off the bat as he confidently drove it onto the edge of the first green for an easy two putt birdie to start the day.

Practice Round Notice

From August 19th to Sept.1st, all Vancouver Open competitors will be offered the regular posted twilight rate at each of the 3 Parks Golf Courses two hours before twilight. Players are to call the respective golf shops to book their practice times and make payment directly to the Pro-shop. Contestants are asked to print their Vancouver Open confirmation receipt and bring to the Pro-shop when checking in to verify they are playing in the Van Open.

ADAM HADWIN to play in Vancouver Open

#1Ranked Golfer in Canada ADAM HADWIN to play in 2011 PAINE EDMONDS Vancouver Open. The 23-year old Abbotsford Professional has had one of the fastest rises to fame in Canadian Golf history the past 18 months. After two runner-up finishes early in the ’10 Canadian Tour schedule, Adam Hadwin took a boat load of confidence into his first Nationwide and PGA Tour starts, where he would finish in the top 40 in both events, finishing Low Canadian at the RBC Canadian Open. He would cap off his 2010 season with a win at the 2010 VANCOUVER OPEN and then win for the first time on the Canadian Tour at the Desert Dunes Classic in November, setting the wheels in motion for his legendary year on tour in 2011.
