Adam Hadwin Drops the Hammer Down in Round

Round two of the 2011 Paine Edmonds Vancouver Open saw Canada’s #1 Ranked Golfer Adam Hadwin stomp his foot on the accelerator, lighting up his scorecard with 5 birdies and an eagle to card his second consecutive round of 65 (-6) on Vancouver’s Premier Parks Golf Courses.  Hadwin’s domination in round two came on the shortest of the three courses, Langara, noted for its perfectly manicured and undulating greens.

Hadwin’s solid play was punctuated right off the bat as he confidently drove it onto the edge of the first green for an easy two putt birdie to start the day.  He would continue with an impressive eagle on the par five 3rd hole and another two birdies on the front nine for an outward score of 30 (-5) at the turn.  His steady play continued on the back nine, carding two more birdies and only one bogey on the day which was good enough to vault his way to the top of leader board at the end of the day by a healthy 7 shot margin.

Three Professionals sit in a tie for 3rd place after 36 holes, namely Devin Carrey and James Allenby of the Canadian Tour and Brad Clapp of Sun Rivers Resort in Kamloops.

Final Round action gets underway starting at 7:10am on Sunday at Fraserview Golf Course, with the top 60% of each Flight (Amateurs and Professionals) making the cut to play the weekend.

Marquee Professional and Amateur groupings will tee-off at approximately 11:00am with our lead group of Hadwin, Allenby and Carrey tee-ing off at 2:00pm.
