NOTICE TO COMPETITORS:
DRIVERS ARE NOT PERMITTED on the MCCLEERY PRACTICE RANGE!!
We are excited to welcome all 312 of you to the 2023 JM MEDIA VANCOUVER OPEN next week!! All three of Vancouver’s City Courses are in wonderful condition as we approach the Championship.
Official start-times will be emailed out to all players this evening. On behalf of our Vancouver Open Committee and team of volunteers, I want to wish each and every one of you a successful Championship!
On a slightly less positive note, we have had a few reports from the McCleery staff of errant balls flying over the driving range netting and nearly hitting golfers on the 4th hole. With the limited length of the McCleery Practice Range (approximately 240 yards long), and the 4th hole in direct line of play over the practice net, we must enforce the following LOCAL RULE for PLAYER SAFETY, starting immediately and continuing until the final tournament rounds have been completed at McCleery Golf Course:
LOCAL RULE: DRIVERS ARE NOT PERMITTED FOR PLAY ON THE MCCLEERY GOLF COURSE PRACTICE RANGE
With the EXTREME DANGER this poses to players on the 4th hole (when players hit driver over the net), IF A PLAYER FAILS TO ADHERE TO THIS NOTICE (whether in practice round play or tournament play), they MAY BE SUBJECT TO IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION from the Vancouver Open competition.
